A delegation led by Mr. Minhaj Alam, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries visited Milan (Italy), Navarra, La Rioja, Barcelona and Madrid (Spain) for conducting roadshows on the side-lines of participation in TUTTO Food, from 6th to 10th May 2019 with the following objectives:
Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) participated in Tutto Food 2019 to discuss areas of collaboration with key stakeholders of agri-food sector in Italy. The delegation had four roundtables and four one-on-one meetings in Spain which included meetings with Mr. Manu Ayerdi Olaizola, Vice President of Navarra Province and Mr. Clemente Mata Tapia, Sub-Director General, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food, Spain.
During these interactions, the delegation highlighted the myriad opportunities that India offers in the food processing sector such as processing of new value-added products, infrastructure development, food retail sector, sustainable packaging for reduction of food and agri waste etc. The delegation also extended invitation to companies, associations and government authorities to participate in World Food India 2019 which is planned to be organised from 1st to 4th November 2019.
