A delegation led by Ms. Reema Prakash, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI) was on a 5 day visit to Canada accompanied by KPMG and Invest India as part of the World Food India 2019 roadshow. The objective of the delegation was to promote World Food India 2019 and to establish connect with various stakeholders in the Canadian Food Processing Industry. The delegation interacted with key executives of many Canadian food processing, manufacturing and retail companies during the trip and highlighted the opportunities present in the Indian food processing sector.
The delegation also met Hon. Ernie Hardeman, Ontario's Minister of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs to discuss areas of collaboration between Ontario and India. Ms. Reema Prakash invited the Ontario's Minister of Agriculture, Food & Rural Affairs to lead a delegation for World Food India 2019.
The MOFPI delegation also participated in SIAL Canada (world's leading international food exhibition network) from 30th April – 2nd May at Toronto and discussed various investment opportunities in the Indian Food Processing sector with Canadian companies and other stakeholders. The Delegation also utilized this platform to spread the word about World Food India 2019
